South Pacific Nuclear Free Zone Treaty (Rarotonga Treaty)

  • Entered into force in 1986
  • 16 signatory states in the South Pacific
  • The Treaty requires its parties to renounce the manufacture, acquisition, possession or control of any nuclear explosive devices, and to prevent the stationing or testing of any such devices
  • Similar to Tlatelolco with the additional ban on testing (presumably result of extensive testing in the region by NWS)
